JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Kenmore Housing Program Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the Kenmore Affordable Housing Program. The Kenmore Affordable Housing Program is designed to provide low cost and affordable housing to individuals and families who are experiencing housing instability and who, otherwise, could not afford to pay rent given the housing crisis in Los Angeles County. The Kenmore Housing Program Manager will work closely with the Executive Director and the leadership team to ensure seamless support for the tenants of the Kenmore Affordable Housing Program. The Kenmore Housing Program Manager will ensure the delivery of supports and services to the tenants in accordance with the Alexandria House Mission/Vision, as well as the Code of Conduct, Policies and Procedures. They are responsible for the development of community within the program, coordinating activities to promote such, and being an ambassador of Alexandria House Village with the community at large.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Demonstrate a passion and commitment for the Mission and Core Values of Alexandria House.
  2. Create an atmosphere of enthusiasm and energetic commitment and serve as a role model in carrying out the Mission.
  3. Promote and support the attitudes, behaviors, knowledge and skills necessary to work respectfully and effectively with all staff members, community partners, vendors and the individuals and families living in the Kenmore Affordable Housing Program.
  4. Follow the Trauma Informed Care philosophy when supporting and addressing the needs of the individuals and families living in the Kenmore Affordable Housing Program.
  5. Utilize Trauma Informed Care approach in recognizing the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledge the role that trauma has played in the lives of the tenants.
  6. Follow Universal Precautions when exposed to blood and body fluids.
  7. Follow Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) regulations pertaining to safety and the use of equipment/machinery.
  8. Adhere to all policies, protocols and procedures for the program and agency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Responsible for the overall operation of the Kenmore Affordable Housing Program and oversight of staff including recruitment, hiring, training, and weekly supervision of the Facilities Manager, other support staff as indicated, and volunteers.
  2. Work collaboratively with the Executive Director in addressing all performance issues and needs.
  3. Ensure that they are supporting effective teamwork with the Kenmore Affordable Housing Program staff.
  4. Provide Case Management supports to address unmet needs among the tenants. This may include linkages to and enrollment into support services.
  5. Manage all Kenmore Affordable Housing Program applications, rent collections, tenant notifications, housing warnings, moves and evictions as indicated.
  6. Ensure a collaborative living environment among the tenants by mediating tension and conflicts among the tenants.
  7. Work with the Facilities Manager and the property management company to address any building work orders.
  8. Coordinate volunteers to provide multigenerational, multicultural programming to create community.
  9. Establish and maintain monthly outcome measures and provide monthly reports.
  10. Collaborate with the Development Department in preparing grant reports, seeking out additional funding, in support of the agencyโ€™s philosophy of funding together.
  11. Monitor program budget, in particular labor reports and rent rolls. Provide recommendations for budget modifications.
  12. Actively participate in the Alexandria House Village leadership team. Attend Leadership Meetings as indicated and weekly 1-on-1 supervision with the Executive Director.
  13. Collaborate with colleagues on initiatives that aim to strengthen an integrated Alexandria House Village.
  14. Participate in statewide and nationwide advocacy measures addressing the housing crisis, issues of racial oppression and issues that align with the agency vision that we be intentionally multicultural, antiracist, and in which the needs of women who are economically poor are central.
  15. Maintain appropriate and professional boundaries with all residents, staff and community of supporters.
  16. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSET:

  1. Bachelorโ€™s Degree required (Masterโ€™s Degree preferred) in a field related to social services.
  2. Knowledge of human development/behavior, case management, and crisis intervention.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills and maintain positive working relationship with all staff members, community partners and external customers and/or vendors.
  4. Proficiency in technology and computer skills including advance skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), Adobe PDF, email, internet, Canva, and social media platforms, etc.
  5. Ability to deal with a variety of personalities and temperaments while consistently providing good customer service.
  6. Public speaking skills and comfort in representing the Alexandria House Village in the community.
  7. Accuracy is a must; must be able to work both in a team setting as well as be self-motivated to work independently.
  8. Detail oriented and able to work well under pressure; able to manage priorities.
  9. Must have a valid California Driverโ€™s License and a good driving record and ability to drive Alexandria House vehicle.
  10. Bilingual in Spanish a bonus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. While performing the duties of this position, the Kenmore Housing Program Manager will be frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  2. The Kenmore Housing Program Manager is required to stand and sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  3. The Kenmore Housing Program Manager must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  5. The Kenmore Housing Program Manager may occasionally be required to drive a motor vehicle.
